Recreational Sports Mission
As an office within the Division of Student Affairs, Recreational Sports provides outstanding opportunities to the campus community for the development of lifelong learning skills that bridge classroom theories and practice with experiential learning. This is accomplished through fun and interactive outlets in a safe environment to create an appreciation of a well rounded healthy, active lifestyle. The office, through its five main components of Fitness, Informal Recreation, Intramurals, Outdoor Recreation, and Sport Clubs also strives to provide marketable, meaningful work experiences and the opportunity to develop leadership skills for all employees and participants.

- Support the mission of Ithaca College and The Division of Student Affairs; by providing essential services that foster active student centered learning and development.
- Provide experiential learning opportunities that enable the enhancement of personal growth, communication skills, leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Provide effective staff training to foster personal and professional development.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by developing innovative community partnerships.
- Provide the opportunity for students to learn and prosper from these relationships.
- Improve and develop recreational programs and facilities based on needs assessment and ongoing program analysis.
- Continually review and assess the offices progress in meeting its mission, vision, and goals.
